Bernard Villemot (1911-89) was a French graphic designer and artist known for his iconic advertising posters. Born in Paris, Villemot studied at the École des Arts Décoratifs before starting his career as a freelance illustrator. He gained recognition in the 1950s and 60s for his bold, colorful posters for brands such as Orangina, Bally, and Perrier. Villemot's style was characterized by simple, graphic shapes and bright, eye-catching colors. He often used bold typography and playful imagery to create memorable and effective advertising campaigns. In addition to his commercial work, Villemot also created illustrations for magazines and book covers. He continued to work as a graphic designer until his death in 1989, leaving behind a legacy of iconic advertising posters that continue to inspire and influence designers today.
