Paul Colin (1892-1985) was a French artist and designer best known for his iconic poster designs. Born in Nancy, France, Colin studied at the École des Beaux-Arts in Nancy before moving to Paris in 1910. He quickly established himself as a leading figure in the world of graphic design, creating posters for music halls, theaters, and cabarets. His most famous work is the poster for the Josephine Baker show "La Revue Nègre" in 1925, which helped to launch Baker's career. Colin's style was characterized by bold colors, simplified forms, and a sense of movement and energy. He also worked as a set designer for the theater and film, and his designs were featured in several Hollywood productions. Colin continued to work as an artist and designer throughout his long career, and his work remains influential to this day.
