Biography
William Morris (b. 1834 d. 1896) was a prominent British textile designer, artist, writer, poet, conservationist, printer, translator and social activist. He was associated with the British Arts and Crafts movement. He made major contributions to the revival of traditional British textile arts and production methods. Morris is best known for his wallpaper, textile and carpet designs. His design skills and craftsmanship have been widely celebrated since the mid 19th century.
