British painter, Chris Gollon, lived near London and worked from his studio on an island in the Thames. His work has been widely exhibited in Europe and he has a forthcoming touring exhibition in the United States. Gollon’s work is partially influenced by popular music and he was invited to show with David Bowie, Blur, Pulp, Tim Head, Gavin Turk and Yoko Ono in ‘ROOT’ at the Chisenhale Gallery, London, in October 1998. Originated by Thurston Moore of the band Sonic Youth, the exhibition was an amalgam of popular music and contemporary art.
