Biography
Born in Southern Africa and educated in design, Odile translocated to London in 1997 where she has continued to focus on representation of wildlife. She has had numerous group exhibitions (including The Watercolors and Drawing Fair – Royal Academy, 2005-2007 and the Marwell Zoological Park) as well as a number of solo exhibitions (Zoological Society of London, Contemporary Art Group and the Sheridan Russell Gallery).<br> <br> Her interest is “depicting the individualism of the animal with a specific focus on emotion and quality of line. Using simultaneous contrasts enhances the pictorial and the life-size scale increases the importance of the animal.”<br> <br> Her métier ranges from drawing through charcoal to acrylic on canvas. For the latter, color is predominant while the animal pose is always pivotal to the composition.<br>
