Biography
Edmund Rucinski is a painter of icons using traditional materials derived from all aspects of creation. He uses wood as the base, depicting the subject as it would appear in natural light. Then as the work progresses, the religious object receives a spiritual light and finally highlights made from ground pearls are added as divine light. The icon is “written” not painted on wood, the wood representing the tree of life.
