Biography
Margaret Norris is attracted to natural corrosion in the details of architecture which she does not see as decay but as a form of organic development. Venice is a source of inspiration for this work along with Aix-en-Provence. Both places are exposed to the elements like the sun and wind bleaching and wearing surfaces, peeling back layers of history.

Colographs printed onto recycled handmade papers or paper porcelain describe the layers of plaster, wood and wrought iron work. The finished relief is architectural in its own right. Some are fine and fragile and presented as museum relics, boxed by frames or mounted on slate to accentuate the architectural nature.
