Biography
(1858-1940)<br> Jessica was one of the four daughters of the artist James Hayllar. Jessica tended to favour more brilliant light effects in her genre paintings than Edith, whose palette was more subdued and limpid. Her choice of subject matter was similar however, domestic scenes or romantic images which portray their own narrative.
