Biography
After studying at Goldsmiths College, University of London and Hornsey College, University of Middlesex, Frances Treanor taught art and lectured on design appreciation in various ILEA establishments. <br> <br> She is best known for her paintings of flowers and still lifes in pastel, a medium she has specialised in for twenty five years. She uses all types of pastel and will often combine soft and oil pastel techniques in the same painting to create impasto and other effects. Colour is one of the most important elements in her work and she particularly admires the immediacy with which pastel colour can be applied and developed.<br> <br> Frances Treanor has won many awards and commissions and her paintings are exhibited widely and published in Europe and the USA.<br> <br>
