Biography
Casanova was born in London while his parents were touring. He studied in Venice and was influenced by Venetian art. His brother, Giovanni Giacomo Casanova, wrote that he studied drawing with Giovanni Antonio Guardi. He was probably also the student of Francesco Simonini. He traveled to Florence and Germany, and he lived in Paris and Vienna. He was a popular court painter of battle, hunting and equestrian scenes.
