Biography
Dame Laura Knight is rightly recognised as one of the most successful and historically significant English painters of all time. In 1929 she was created a Dame, and in 1936 became the first woman elected to full membership of the Royal Academy. She enjoyed a hugely successful career which paved the way for greater recognition and celebration of the talent of fellow female artists.
