Born in 1953, Dutch artist René Boin trained at the ABK art academy in Arnhem and has had his work exhibited since 1978. The characteristic feature in Boin's work is the distinctive use of coloured pencils in combination with textured paper, portraying brightly coloured subjects in continuous movement. People, animals and ordinary objects are placed in unexpected contexts; Boin's work will often prompt a smile and it will certainly give food for thought.
