Constance Stubbs studied at the Cheltenham College of Art and gained a scholarship to the Royal College of Art. After graduation she travelled to Greece and worked in the studio of Christos Kapralos. Later she became Senior Lecturer at the Coloma Teacher Training College in Kent.

In 1981 Constance moved to Pakenham in Suffolk and devoted her time and energies to developing her own art. She also joined the Gainsborough’s House Print Workshop in Sudbury and started to exhibit regularly.

Stubb’s growing reputation rests mainly on a wonderful gift for drawing and etching, combined with her original compositional ideas and perspective which heighten her portrayal of everyday life. Her collage technique uses acrylic or watercolour with gouache building up layers of coloured textures on canvas or board. She has held solo exhibitions in Greece and Britain and her work is held in many private collections.
