Valerie Conway studied at the Gloucester College of Art and the Slade in London. She was awarded a post graduate scholarship by the French Government and British Council and studied at the l’Ecole des Beaux Arts. She is a part time lecturer in Mural Decoration at the Hammersmith College of Art and on the Foundation Studies courseat the West Surrey College of Art. She exhibits at the R.A., the R.W.S, Mall Gallery and Llewellyn Alexander Gallery, London. <br> <br> Her work is in private and public collections including the House of Lords, the Imperial War Museum, IBM, Lord Rootes, the late Peter Sellers and others.<br> <br> For Valerie Conway the artists that have most influenced her are Piero della Francesca, Samuel Palmer, Munch, Klimt, Paul Klee and Matisse. In her work, colour and quality come first, then richness of texture and the medium. <br>
