Freddie Trueman at the new Saxon Motor hotel, Ainley Top, Huddersfield, to take part in the opening ceremony.

He declared open the Sportsman's bar, and is seen with left, Sonia Robertson and Andrea Lannyman, two of the hostesses at the Hotel. 

The Motor hotel itself was opened by Mr. John McConachie Chairman of the Furness Withy company who owns the hotel.

Firemen and police joined forces to rescue a cow which had plunged into the canal at Myton Road, Warwick yesterday after wandering too close to the edge. They tied a rope around her and it took 10 minutes to get her onto the bank. No-one knew how long the animal had been in the water, but she was out before her owner was even aware of her fall.

Riding easily on its cushion of air the Hover Truck a development by Vickers of the Hovercraft is based on the Land Rover. To provide the necessary cushion of air a second engine is mounted behind the cab. This drives a centrifugal fan on each side of the vehicle. Two production vehicles have been converted for Soil Fertility Ltd. and these will be used to provide a contract service for farmers to enable fertilisation to start earlier in the year than would have been otherwise possible. The Hover truck demonstration at Chettisham, near Ely, Cambridgeshire, March 1963
