MPX5097971: Firemen and police joined forces to rescue a cow which had plunged into the canal at Myton Road, Warwick yesterday after wandering too close to the edge. They tied a rope around her and it took 10 minutes to get her onto the bank. MPX5099221: Riding easily on its cushion of air the Hover Truck a development by Vickers of the Hovercraft is based on the Land Rover. To provide the necessary cushion of air a second engine is mounted behind the cab. This drives a centrifugal fan on each side of the vehicle. Two production vehicles have been converted for Soil Fertility Ltd. and these will be used to provide a contract service for farmers to enable fertilisation to start earlier in the year than would have been otherwise possible.
