Biography
Bartolome Esteban Murillo (b.1618 d.1682) was a Spanish painter. He is often regarded as the leading Baroque religious painter in Seville in the 17th Century. He was hugely influenced by the early works of Velásquez completed when in Seville. Most of his paintings were produced for Convents and Churches. His biggest patrons were the religious orders such as the Franciscans.
