- b. 1962<br> Victoria Russell was born in 1962 and studied at the Royal Academy Schools, London and Central St. Martins’ College of Art and Design. She has held several solo exhibitions, participated in numerous Group Exhibitions and received awards and portrait commissions. <br> <br> Victoria has been painting theatre audiences for several years, the viewer becoming the subject of attention of the figures in the painting. She also enjoys painting people who are crowded together and also the spaces between people. Her work has strong references to historical painting and the cinematic references in her work act as a way of bringing the subject into the present and reinterpreting it.<br>
