David Nolan’s work is figurative. He tends to paint subjects which are set within a seasonal landscape. These have been steam engines, boats, fishing and canal scenes, churches, and local Cheshire farms. Nolan enjoys the challenge of painting these different landscapes in all moods and weathers.<br> <br> He is very much influenced by the play of light and how it can imbue an otherwise uninteresting scene into one of great drama and beauty. <br>
