<p><span style="FONT-SIZE: 10pt; FONT-FAMILY: Arial">John Wallington was born and educated in <place st="on"><city st="on">London</city></place> and graduated with distinction from the Central School of Art. He studied under Mervyn Peake, Cecil Collins, and Eduard Paolozzi. Since then he has taught at various London Art Schools as well; Wash<place st="on"><placename st="on">ington</placename> <placetype st="on">University</placetype></place> in St.Louis; MO and the Gymnasium Sankt Christophoros; Werne AD Lippe NRW in <country-region st="on"><place st="on">West Germany</place></country-region>. John was art editor of Transactions Magazine out of <city st="on">Rutgers University</city>, <state st="on">NJ</state> before returning to <country-region st="on">Britain</country-region> to teach Typograghy and Design at <place st="on"><placename st="on">Keil</placename> <placetype st="on">School</placetype></place>, Dumbarton. He went to live in Orkney in 1988 and continued creating the lively, individual and interesting work you see here today.</span></p>
